Writing Instructor in Mount Sterling, Kentucky
I have always been passionate about the written word. I love to read and I love to write. I was an avid writer in childhood and have earned a living as a writer and editor for decades working in the worlds of newspaper, magazine, and online publishing as well as publishing three novels.
An experienced writing teacher, I began teaching GED preparation and high school English classes and have been teaching college-level writing classes since 1999. Currently, I teach writing at Morehead State University where I also direct the Morehead Writing Project and run the MWP Writing Studio.
I have four advanced degrees in English: a Bachelor of Arts in English (with a concentration in journalism) from the SUNY College at Plattsburgh, a Master of Science in Education (with a concentration in secondary English) from the University of Bridgeport, a Master of Arts in English from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Technical Communication and Rhetoric from Texas Tech University.
My passion is supporting the growth and development of writers of all ages. One of the great things about my job is that I get paid to do this. Last year I rededicated my personal web site to inspiring writers of all ages to Just Write.
