Ever since I was in my single digit years I have believed that I should have been a daughter instead of the third son. This was at a time when “transsexual” was probably not even a word, as George Jorgensen became Christine Jorgensen , the first notable American to undergo a transition from male to female when I was three.
When I came out in November 2011, I was asked the question “How long have you wanted to be a girl?” I didn’t have an answer and would later realize that I never “wanted" to be a girl, I had been a girl since the day I was born.
