Deanne Dalgleish

I’m Deanne, a Jagera woman living on Wathaurong Country.

I'm currently studying my Grad Diploma of Writing and Literature at Deakin because during COVID they had 50% off and I'm never one to walk past a sale.

Studying wasn't the only odd spontaneous decision I made during COVID, when everyone else was stocking up on toilet paper I bought a piano accordion and a guitar. The result was we very nearly ran out of toilet paper, saved only by the neighbours in exchange for an agreement to stop the kids playing that goddam instrument. I never did admit it was me.

My day job is so boring that when I mention it at parties people back away…
