Biography

I’m Deante, born Georgetown, SC raised in Midway, GA, and I'm a sophomore at Western Carolina University majoring in Music Education. My focus is percussion and I'm also student of the WCU Percussion Studio. I decided to become a teacher/band director after being a drum tech for two years at my former high school. In the future I hope to gain more knowledge by participating in drum corps and volunteering at various locations.

I started band in the 6th grade on trumpet but didn't move to percussion until 10th. From that point I developed a passion drumming and have strived to get better every I pick up the sticks.

Pursuing a degree in education will give me a chance help others find what it is they're passionate about while also helping me become a better musician and person. I believe that world without music is a world without joy and with enough hard work I'm sure I can help others bring joy to this world.
