Ohio University senior journalism student Trista Thurston is the General Manager of AVW Productions. She oversees her fellow executive board members and the 8 shows AVW has to offer, managing production on a granular and conceptual scale. AVW Productions is a completely student run on-campus media production house. She was the producer of Tech Heads for one year, part of AVW Productions that features written pieces, podcasts, and videos. It was established in the fall of 2008. She also wrote and edited pieces for Tech Heads.

Trista is currently the Assistant Resident Director of Tiffin Hall. She is the co-advisor of the building's hall council, she is in charge of maintaining accurate and up-to-date resident records and she is also responsible for any room changes in or out of the building. She also develops training and development exercises for the Resident Assistants on her staff. She works under and with a Graduate Resident Director. Before this role, Trista was a Resident Assistant in Ewing House at Ohio University. There, she advised 28 first-year students, developed meaningful programming and supported their academic endeavors.

She has been selected as a "Fresh Face" at the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism's Scripps Showcase publication, which highlights freshman students that have done something extraordinary or unique. She obtained an internship within the news department of her local broadcast outlet, AVC Communications, over winter break her freshman year of college. AVC Communications hosts over 6 different unique radio stations that she was able to work with on a very personal level. Trista interned at The Daily Jeffersonian in Cambridge, Ohio during the summer of 2013 as their sole videographer. She edited and shot several videos herself while shadowing reporters and photographers. During the summer of 2014, Trista interned at the Observer-Reporter in Washington, Pa. as their multimedia and online intern. She managed their web presence and produced several video packages. Trista was on the Dean's List for the Scripps College of Communications both fall and spring semesters of her freshman, sophomore and junior years and she has earned prestigious scholarships within the E. W. Scripps School of Journalism.
