Debbie Grills

I was born and raised in Oshawa which helps me greatly to understand many of the issues Oshawa faces. I have been married for 30 years to my husband Doug Grills and we have 3 wonderful children and 1 grandson.

Over the years I have owned and operated 3 businesses the last one was operated here in Oshawa which allows me to understand the obstacles that todays businesses face. Property taxes in Oshawa are one of the highest in Ontario which makes it difficult to survive a business in this Community.

I have a very good understanding of the Municipal Act and the role that a Council should play in meeting the needs of our Community.

I as well am a hard working middle class person which gives me the ability to truly understand the struggle that most face to make ends meet during these very trying economic times.

During my campaign trail I will be out and about in the community and want to hear from you. I am insterested in your ideas of what Oshawa and Durham Region mean to you.

Let's welcome the community to be involved in the operation and development of our great city and together let's take Oshawa and Durham Region in a "New Direction".
