Deborah Howlett

I have a particular interest in digital media, especially video, and I work with non-profit and civic organizations to add digital capacity to their communications work. I also teach at Rutgers University, including a course called Strategic Presentation Methods in Digital Media (we also call it DIY Digital Media).

Previously, I was a reporter for USA Today, covering the White House and then working overseas in Afghanistan, the Middle East and Africa. I've also served as the communications director for the governor of New Jersey and worked at a lumber mill in southern Oregon.
