Kent

I'm a mother of 3 living in Kent. I have a good understanding of working with people who have some kind of disability. My 21 year old Son was born with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy so I have had to care and some times fight for my son whether it be for his health or education. My other son also suffers from Epilepsy so I have a great deal of patience and empathy when dealing with people suffering from any kind of disability.

In 2010 I suffered with Diabetic ketoacidosis, I spent 3 weeks in intensive care then 4 more weeks in recovery. Once I got better I saw life in a different light and wanted to live life to the fullest and do something for me. This involved learning something new. I've always been interested in Sign Language so looked into a course and thats where my BSL journey started.

I've already completed Level 1 & 2 and I'm currently studying for my Level 3 BSL, I want to progress all the way through to Level 6. In order to go out and be the best I can at this is to work with people who are Deaf. Ideally in the future I would have completed all my BSL levels and would love to work as a Deaf Buddy or interpreter.
