Anumenechi Deborah is a passionate Environmentalist and a Sustainable Finance specialist. She is currently engaged as an Assistant on Climate Change and Green Finance to the Hon. Minister of State for Environment, Abuja.

She previously served as the Team Lead, Digital Communications and operations for the International Climate Change Development Initiative Africa (ICCDI Africa) and became the Team Lead, Volunteer Management before transitioning.

Deborah is an Enterprise project manager and an environmental and social sustainability researcher with special interest in sustainable finance and climate support policy creation. She has carried out studies on loss and damage as a result of climate change in Nigeria.

She is the initiator and host for the ICCDIA Sustainability Couch Series and recently concluded serving as youth regional head for the north-central and north-east zone under the central coordinating committee on youth innovation by the United Nations development partners Nigeria (UNDP Nigeria).

Deborah holds a Bachelors degree in industrial chemistry from the University of Benin, Edo state. She believes in equal and fair treatment for the masses and having experienced the devastating consequence of climate ignorance, Deborah is compelled to help more climate vulnerable communities access needed material and financial help.

She believes sustainable finance is a strong tool to address climate change as well as other socio-environmental issues. As this would ensure a major shift of business focus from profit as usual to aligning business process with the triple bottom line - profit, planet and people

Deborah's work with ICCDI Africa has helped create a link between less developed isolated communities to appropriate help channels and the government.
