Born and bred in the “City of Wind”- Chicago, Illinois, Deborah Collage Grison has written her way into the hearts of all of those who have ever witnessed her lyrical artistry. Leaving impressions as indelible as the very ink she uses to pen her work. A lover of language, a weaver of words, a phonetic fire starter, and a purveyor of prose, she uses her syntax slingshot to sew and design original literary patterns with every letter and word she selects. Like a couture fashion designer who considers every detail of their work; this craftswoman does so with deliberate consideration and precision; authenticity and flawless taste. Like finely spun Egyptian fabric she styles letters and words into custom made masterpieces. With a keen eye for detail, she scrolls out uniquely crafted words onto the world’s literary runway. The author of two volumes of poetry, The Attic: Words from the Top and A Love Supreme: a poemoir both published by Writes of Passage Publishing Group in 2001 and 2010 respectively. Her work has spanned North America and graced international borders, touching lives in Germany, Africa and the United Kingdom. Her work has been nominated and received praise from renown author, poet Nikki Giovanni, while sharing creative and performance space with Dr. Sonia Sanchez; the late Illinois Poet Laureate Gwendolyn Brooks; Saul Williams of the critically acclaimed film SLAM; Regi Gibson of the movie Love Jones; hip-hop mogul KRS-ONE and The Last Poets. With the moniker “Literary Stylist” to the stars, Deborah Collage has written for The Voice of BET, Former Def Jam Recording Artist-Joe Budden, now with Eminem’s Shady Records, Darius “Deezle” Harrison of Drum Major Music and Lil Wayne’s Young Money, Gifted Music, Glass Heart Productions; and a host of professionals in the fields of medicine, psychology, academia, veterinary science, restaurateurs and television.
