Deborah (Debbie) Lamb

Hello. Could you use some marketing support? I help businesses of all sizes and not-for-profit organisations with marketing communications. I've been doing this as a freelancer for the past five years or so, fitting work around my family (or trying to).

In my previous life (ie before kids), I spent many years as financial journalist and marketing copywriter. My last full time job was as English editorial manager for Jardine Fleming Investment Management in Hong Kong (now part of JP Morgan), before moving to New York City as a 'trailing spouse.'

Before that I had freelanced in Hong Kong for publications both there and in the UK, and had a regular gig on the Sunday Morning Post, writing about personal finance.

I was deputy editor of Money Management magazine (part of the Financial Times group) in London when the travel bug got the better of me. I had started there as a staff writer and was lucky enough to work with a terrific editor, Janet Walford OBE, and a great team of journalists learning a huge amount in those five years.

I was copywriter at NEL Britannia (a life assurance group now partly owned by UNUM) until my foray into journalism. This followed a stint marketing a local transport company - my first job after studying business studies and the Institute of Marketing Diploma at Bournemouth University.

When I'm not working or doing mum things, I spend what little time is left tramping through the countryside in an effort to keep our two Labradors (and me) in trim.

Please get in touch if you'd like some help with your marketing communications. I also provide desktop publishing services, including basic design and layout for newsletters and marketing literature.
