Deborah Lawrence
fashion and design in the United States
I'm the founder and Creative Director of Deborah Lawrence, a luxury women's ready to wear line of beautiful Italian and Japanese denim. Our world is a place where denim becomes as precious as silk or the finest wool tweeds through exquisite tailoring and design.
I began in the fashion industry as a model for the Fords in New York. I then went on to investment banking in London, ultimately doing work on energy financials in the U.S.
I have served on an Advisory Committee at US Department of Interior and my achievements include testifying before the US Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and founding Energy Policy Forum, a consultancy and think tank. I'm also a former Advisory Committee member at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and international speaker on the financial anomalies of shale gas and tight oil. I've been featured in the NYT, Guardian, Rolling Stone, MSNBC, al-Jazeera and NPR among others. So I'm a bit of an anomaly. ..someone who lives and breathes fashion but knows how to keep her feet firmly on the ground of financial success. Perhaps the best part is that I truly love what I do!
