Deborah Moran

I was born in West Texas where I first began to learn violin and developed a love of the sky. I was a symphony musician for 27 years and currently enjoy teaching violin and performing. Also heavily involved in amateur astronomy, I love public outreach and frequently lecture on various astronomy topics to community groups and schools and volunteer at the public observatory, running its 36-inch telescope. Total eclipses of the sun have directed much of my world travel...it is like throwing a dart at a map to discover the next destination to explore. And I am a bit of an Alaska-phile having made many trips to get out of the summer heat.
