Deborah Park
Deborah is currently a public school English Language Arts teacher for the Santa Ana Unifed School District. She is an encourager of student success and hopes to facilitate a learning environment where her students can flourish into critical thinkers, creative innovators, and globally-minded individuals.
Deborah graduated from UCLA as a communication studies major with an art history minor. She has had internships at various publicity firms and was an editorial assistant at the J. Paul Getty Museum, which gave her insanely-fast-proofreading-editing-powers; however, her passion is in teaching. She currently has a master's degree in Teaching and a single-subject teaching credential (grades 6-12) in both English and Mathematics from UC Irvine and plans to continue her education to become an administrator or professor (one day!). She adores the work and literature of Joseph Beuys, John Steinbeck, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Edouard Manet, Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe, and John Keats (all dead guys!). Her favorite cities are Berlin, Paris, and Istanbul. She loves art museums, Oscar-worthy films, Emmy-winning television shows, KCRW, beautiful cafes, Martha Stewart, the stories in the New Yorker, commercials that make her cry, Vogue magazine, Target, and J.crew. Her favorite people in the world are her weirdly cool parents who live in Istanbul, her handsome younger brother, and her creative-talented-good-at-all-things older sister/roommate. She also LOVES and ADORES all of the students that she has the honor of teaching. Most of all, she loves God and Jesus very much. HAVE A HAPPY DAY!
