Deborah Parrott
Hi Everyone!! My name is Deborah Parrott. I was born in Wayne County, NC on April 19, 1961 to Doug and Irma Morse. I grew up in a farming community and I loved it. I was a tomboy and enjoyed playing outdoors. No baby dolls for me. I attended Eastern Wayne Elementary, Jr. High, and High School. I graduated from high school in 1979. After I graduated I joined the real world and got a job. I worked in a factory job for about 5 years. During this time I married Joe Parrott and later quit my job and returned to school. I attended Wayne Community College and obtained an AAS degree in Computer Programming. Also during this college experience I had my first child, a son in 1988. After I graduated I stayed home to be a wife and mother. In 1990 I had my second child, a daughter, Amber. When my children started school I began substitute teaching. This position turned into my current job of a teacher's assistant at Northwest Elementary School in Wayne County. After about 6 years as a teacher's assistant I decided once again to return to college. In 2007 I joined the Wachovia Partnership East program and began pursuing my degree in Elementary Education. I am currently in my senior year at ECU finishing up that degree. I have now been married for almost 27 years. My son graduated from NC State last May and is now employed in the Raleigh area. My daughter is a junior at NC State pursuing her degree in Business Education. I still live in the Wayne County, NC area and I can say with complete confidence that I am a very blessed woman.
