Debra Buszko, founder and president of Mentoring Matters LLC offers personalized coaching for school leaders on the east coast.

With 25 years of experience as a school and district supervisor and administrator in the New York City Department of Education, Debra Buszko brings an informed perspective and deep expertise to her mentoring. Grounded in both her own leadership experience and her knowledge of current research, Debra’s work addresses leadership issues around capacity building, managing school resources, improved professional practice and student performance. She understands the challenges of working in an environment of constant demands and the importance of prioritizing those demands that best support student achievement and teacher development.

Debra holds a Bachelors of Science in Education from Queens College, a Masters of Arts in Elementary Education from Hofstra University and a Professional Diploma in School Building and District Supervision and Administration from L.I.U. at C.W. Post. She recently completed a certification in mentoring from the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP).

Debra is available to offer onsite coaching to support school and district leaders in areas such as data analysis, strategic planning, teacher evaluation, professional development, and strategies to improve students’ performance.
