Debra Laroe

Fairbanks, Alaska

Born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska, I have lived in six different states and two countries in Africa since heading out to Oregon State University after high school. After my time as an animal handler/trainer specializing in cheetahs, I spent some time as a barista at the fantastic Pier 55 Starbucks in Seattle, and then headed back overseas to serve as a Peace Corps volunteer in Benin, West Africa. I am now fluent in French and living back in my hometown, cruising around town in -20 below weather and working as the Associate Director for a grant to bring broadband to rural Alaska. I relish all things Apple, am slightly fanatic about coffee, and cannot stop buying that bag that looks delightful to carry!
