Debra Parks

Debra teaches English composition and humanities at the collegiate level. She earned her BA in English, with a minor in psychology, and an MA in English Composition and Rhetoric at Virginia Commonwealth University. In addition to teaching, she has developed a passion for the glass arts, specifically kiln formed glass. Her focus is on small decorative objects and jewelry. "I believe the little things we do make us more of who we are than the big, awe inspiring moments. We spend the majority of our time having tiny ideas, sharing little kindnesses, and thinking everyday thoughts. While the huge, awe inspiring moments are wondrous, the sum total of our lives is made up of both the momentous and the small. My goal is to create items that capture the essence of the everyday joy."
