Dee Bonds is a Nigerian Rap-duo consisting of two friends; Simonpeter Ella, andJohn Splendours Paul with the respective stage names Dominion JasonandJjey Splend. They are known for their unique blend in rap, and trap, the duo has been gaining popularity for their catchy beats and smooth vocals lately.
Jjey and Jason both hail from the northern region of Nigeria, where they developed their love for music. Jjey started singing at a young age, he played drums, while Jason just got to love trap with time; and some help from his elder brother. The duo met in 2018 at church and in school where they immediately hit it off. They began freestyling, writing and recording music together, drawing inspiration from their shared love of rap and trap music.
In 2019, they became a duo "Dee Bonds" they released their debut single, "Big Dreams" the following year in November, which gained a few clicks, which although gave the duo the motivation they needed to continue. Hailing from a poor background, it took a year before they could drop another single "Baby Please" which also was a success for a start, sooner they had their first collaboration with Samuel LBY, in an emo-rap which they titled "Sleepless Nights". In 2022 they dropped another collaboration featuring Stevester, being their biggest success at that time. After a long break due to college and other things that separated Dee Bonds for a while, they kicked off 2023 in style with their most successful song yet "Levels" where they featured gypsy female rapper "Invikta" the song which was about comparison got good comments and love from fans.
They later dropped a major single in May 2023, in anticipation for their debut EP, "Best for the Last," which should be released in August 25, 2023. The EP showcased the duo's versatility as artists. The EP featured upbeat tracks like "Best For The Last" as well as more soulful ballads like "Lonely" and "Relate". Bringing Dee Bonds to have collaborated with 3 artists in total, including Stevester, Invikta, and Samuel LBY. They have gained a loyal following both in Nigeria and abroad, with fans drawn to their smooth harmonies and infectious beats.
Outside of music, Jjey is a programmer and a professional cinematographer, and Jason is a graphics designer, they are both committed to their works. With their talent, passion, and commitment to their craft, John Paul and Ella Simonpeter are poised to become the next big thing in the music industry despite being independent artists.
