I always thought a uniform would be my whole life. Even in high school, I dreamed of duty and service using skills I would use to protect my country, my family, and my freedoms. I would have never anticipated I could be writing about our own business!

Do Uniforms define us?
Our first 15 years of marriage have been in pursuit of duty in uniform. My first of Navy Dress Blues, I learned of honor, courage, and commitment. Later, a corporate suit and tie to working job shirt. Currently my duty days are in Firefighter Turnout Gear, realizing that sacrifice for the public good is noble for community and always politically correct, but has become elected official's second priority in hard times. I have always worked with dedication, intensity, and creativity in a pursuit of excellence. But fulfillment hasn't come through awards, qualifications, promotion, or even job classification. This is where the uniform fails the wearer. Finding ItWorks! is not a paycheck, more importantly it has been a source of inspiration to the American Dream - freedom from dependency on corporate or government welfare! Work hard for someone else, and you remain limited. Find a way to motivate and inspire others' dreams, and you can set each one of them free - including yours!

How did we get here?
Today, I look back on diverse career experiences, having been lucky to meet my soul mate before even starting my first career. Catherine and I were engaged after I completed boot camp just north of Chicago, IL. Soon married, we traveled and grew together. Read more about us
