My name is Diara Solite. I am a 22 year old graduate of Southern University A&M College. I often shared with everyone I came in contact with how I aspired to open up my own cupcake business. It all started when I was a young girl, assisting my mom while she baked the most delicious cakes I've ever tasted. As I got older, I began practicing everything she taught me. I then began making cupcakes for family bake offs and winning them. The first time I saw someone's face light up when biting into my cupcakes, I knew I had to keep doing it. One of my favorite quotes by Maya Angelou is, "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." From that day on, I've had a passion for baking. To know that I'm bringing joy to someone else lets me know I'm living a life of purpose. Although the road to get here wasn't easy, I knew that with consistent faith and action I would accomplish it. Dee's Delights is a business that will bring great joy after one bite.
