Deeyana Sallie

Hi, I am Deeyana Sallie and I am 20 years old. I was born in 1995 on the 11th February. I was meant to study psychology but my heart was not set on it. I have a great passion for cooking and baking. My aspiration in life is o a pastry chef and own a bakery franchise. I am currently studying at the University of Johannesburg and I am in my first year, Food and beverage operations. One of my favourite subjects happens to be gastronomy. I am intrigued by the subject because the artists in the gastronomy field are innovative and artsy, they come up with new ways of cooking and presenting the food and that is the kind of chef I hope to be. Cooking is more than just preparing a meal and serving it to me, it is more a feeling and has become my escape. I have more than just passion for becoming a chef, it has become a part of who I am becoming. To keep me going in this industry, i live by the quote by Babe Ruth: "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game."
