Beginning his career as a photographer, his initial foray into film drama was producing the multi award winning film, Hush a bye Baby which won numerous awards including Best drama at the Celtic Film Festival, Best actress at Locarno film festival, Irish entry to Young European Film Awards, Sunday Tribune Arts Award, and featured Sinead O Connor as actress and composure of soundtrack.

2013 The Gift: An Bronntanas created and writing on a five part thriller TV series featuring a sea rescue crew team - A Shallow Grave on water.
2013 The Dinosaur Room: Irish producer with Canadian company The Film Works, (Oscar nominated shortlist for In Darkness).
2012 The Poor Mouth: Adapted and directing Flann O’ Brien’s classic novel for animation.
2012 Jack Taylor; The Guards: Writer feature length pilot episode for German RTF TV. TV3 Ireland. Series based on the Ken Bruen novels. In Production
2012 Reading in the Dark: Co Writer the Booker shortlisted novel by Seamus Deane. Co written with Ronan Bennett (Public Enemies with Johnny Depp) Cast attached Maggie Gylennhall, Stephen Rea and Ralph Fiennes.
2009 The Boys of St Columb’s: writer/director documentary featuring Nobel Prize winners John Hume and Seamus Heaney produced for BBC.
2008 Kings: although shot in London, Ireland’s Entry to the 2008 Oscars - Best Foreign Film Category.
Kings: wins Gold Torc / Spirit of the festival Award at the Celtic Film Festival and other awards including American Director’s Guild New Finder Award.
Kings picks up 5 awards at the Irish Film and Television Awards
Kings 14 nominations to the Irish Film and Television Awards.

2007 King: adapted the stage play Kings of the Kilburn High Road for the screen.
2006 Dead Long Enough: ITV Wales. Writer/ Director wins the Audience Award at Cardiff Film Festival.
2006 Teenage Kicks (directed): released on DVD. 5 star review from The Times. 4 star from The Guardian. The Sunday Times regarded Teenage Kicks as “one of the best rockumentaries ever produced.”
