Defiant Dieter
I'm a fat dieter but I'm getting thinner.
I'm defiant because nutritional guidelines are not one-size-fits-all.
My diet is what works for me. It is basically ketogenic, around 70 per cent fat when I get it right, with the emphasis on good fats and quality protein.
I eat a lot of coconut oil, lacto-fermented foods, kombucha and green vegatables. I don't eat very many grains, or carb-heavy foods - I have a carbohydrate intolerance. That's part of the reason I'm fat.
I exercise, too. No more or less than when I first started this journey of nutritional discovery, interestingly enough.
I began my weight loss journey in Nov 2011. In a year I have dropped around 60 lbs I think but I stopped weighing myself after a particularly frustrating plateau about 6 months ago. I do measure though, and I'm shrinking - four dress sizes so far.
