Joan DeHovitz
Event Management in San Francisco, California
Joan DeHovitz is an all-rounded person. She is specialized in event management, but also is certified to lead Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction sessions.
DeHovitz is born in St. Louis, Missouri. At a young age she moved to San Francisco, where she attended Lowell High School.
Joan DeHovitz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from the University of California, Berkeley (Cal).
She acquired her event management while she was working at the Branson School in Ross, CA. Her work responsibilities included event planning, organization, management, hosting, customer service, contract negotiations, and budget and vendor management. DeHovitz has successfully organized a number of events for up to 250 people.
Additionally, she served as a board member at the Community Health Resource Center (CHRC) at the California Pacific Medical Center and also worked at the Bank of America in San Francisco.
When it comes to her experience as Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction coach, she attended a number of MBSR trainings. Some of them are: MBSR Fundamentals Practicum at El Camino Hospital in Mt. View, CA, MBSR introductory course at UCSF Osher Center with James Mitchell, Practice Teaching Intensive (PTI) Retreat in Petaluma, CA.
