Deidre Cotter
Marshfield, Massachusetts
I'm Deidre Cotter, a 4th year student at Cape Cod Community College in a program called Project Forward; I volunteer at the YMCA Cape Cod Children's Crossing for 4 days and 16 hours per week for working with children to give a safe environment and assist the teacher with preparation of arts and crafts in order to qualify for a state certification in ECE. I have been working with children since the since age of 18 until now; Monthly, I work for Marshfield Friends of Music, which we as board of directors and volunteers help with all venues year round. I have been a big help to these board of directors at the Marshfield FOM by keeping the sales for food and beverages sold, passing out water to the marching band while at the parades, and many more responsiblities. An organization called, Grad Nite Live, which I help with painting the scenary to get ready for the graduates of Marshfield High School to come to the all night party and I also teared down the scenes after the party from when the graduates left. Another volunteer job the Saturday before Thanksgiving through Brigham and Women's Hospital and Dana Farber is Caps for Kids. this organization came together with one nurse's living room, knitting hats for children who weren't able to where hats. These responsibilities according to the YMCA Cape Cod Children's Crossing, Marshfield FOM, Grad Nite Live, Caps for Kids, and Congregation Shirat Hayam all are imoportant jobs to volunteer because I'm an active person, I'm a pleasure to have with other people and I trust the people I love at these volunteer jobs and my synagogue as well.
