Deirdre Mars
I am an Ohioan turned New Yorker passionate about making the world a better place, especially by using my talents to end the modern-day slave trade. I began my abolitionist career with the Not For Sale Campaign, serving as their New York State Director from November 2009 through May 2011. I joined the Freedom Week NYC Planning Committee for the 2010 event series, and I am currently working with InterVarsity's NYC Urban Project, while also launching my new business, Azarel!
The purpose of Azarel is to change the way people shop: teaching them the power of their consumer dollars, while making it easy to use that power for good by buying products made by the world's most responsible companies. To learn more, check out shopAzarel.com.
