Deirdre Quinn

Graduate Studies officer and formerly a lecturer in Media Studies at Maynooth University, Ireland & writer on media in Ireland (1980s) with a particular interest in the representation of bodies that irritate and upset main stream power. Her other research concentrates on the representation of gender in Irish television drama.

Deirdre Quinn has also worked as a linguistics & hate speech researcher on a team dedicated to developing an automated system detecting latent hate speech in online environments using systemic functional linguistics.
