Read my book

If I were a book, my title and cover would intrigue you enough to stop and buy. But, after reading me from cover to cover you'd be tempted to read me again and again. I'm very interesting, choc full of wonderful surprises, and you'll learn something new from me each time. I am the author of several children's books, including VOWELS: Long Sounds, Short Sounds, Jade Made Me Do It!, The Untruth About the Tooth: Teacher's Edition, and Time to Brush.

Yet, I don't strictly focus on children's literature. I have, also, written many songs, including Wet Dreams (written in 1999 and recorded in a Florida studio) and I Don't Want to Love You (written in 2012 and soon to debut). When I was a young girl I'd sing and write songs with my father, who is a professional singer and recording artist. I believe the first song that I wrote at a very tender age was called 'This is the Way'. It's quite a catchy tune which I still have recorded on a cassette tape. Did I mention that I was always a member of the school chorus? But, of course, darling. This voice wasn't made for the shower.

I was born in New York and raised in the suburbs since the age of 2 when my family and I moved to a big house in Georgia. I come from a mixed family on both my mother and father's side. I'm comprised of a rich potluck of Black, (Native American) Indian, Portuguese, Scottish, Caribbean, and other European blood. Stop trying to figure out if my long hair is real - it's all natural and all mine. An abundance of hair is what I was born with. In fact, I'm a very hairy lady and I sport the fine, straight hairs on my arms with pride. I've never shaved them and no one has ever asked me to. Hair has always been one of my favorite topics. So, I decided to blog about it! Awesome...

I was baptized 3 times in my life. As an infant, I was baptized Episcopalian. I didn't grow up in the church. I worshiped sporadically. In my late teens, however, I became a Bible-toting, scripture quoting, tongue-speaking born again Christian and a faithful member of an extremely energetic non-denominational church. I joined the choir for the second time. But wait! I'm now a proud Pagan.

After high school graduation, I went to college on Long Island. I studied and associated with lots of Italians. So, by the time I went back home I sounded like Marisa Tomei.
