Dr. Adekunbi Wuraola is a highly accomplished individual with a wealth of experience in the fields of policy, partnerships, and education. She currently serves as the Director of Policy and Partnerships for Africa at NewGlobe and previously held the position of Executive Director at Junior Achievement Nigeria.
In 2001, Dr. Wuraola made history as the first female National President of Junior Chamber International - Nigeria, and later became the Vice President in the JCI Africa Senate Association, responsible for overseeing West and Central Africa for four years from 2003-2007. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Lagos in 1993, a postgraduate degree in Education from the University of Nottingham in the UK, and a Doctorate Degree in Educational Psychology.
Dr. Wuraola has a Diploma in International Business Opportunities and is an Alumnus of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) of the Lagos Business School. She also holds the distinction of being an International Graduate of the JCI University in St. Louis, USA. She is an Alumnus of the Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Governance and a Fellow of the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
She is a member of several organizations, including the Women in Business and Management (WIMBIZ) and the Nigeria Institute of Marketing (NIMN), as well as being a member of the Junior Chamber International - Nigeria. In 2007-2010, she served as the council member of the Junior Achievement Worldwide Member Council, representing her colleagues in around 21 African countries as the African Representative.
Dr. Wuraola also participated in the six-month Transformational Leadership Program of the African American Institute in Lagos in 2011, held at the Enterprise Development Centre of the Pan-Atlantic University, where she focused on Social Sector Management.
Kunbi speaks passable french as a second language and has tried her hands playing the saxophone in the intermediate stage. As a woman of faith with strong beliefs in the potentials of women, she founded the Joyful Mothers Network and Woman on Mission Initiative. She is a prolific writer and author and some of her published works include; My Career My Decision and The Relay Race of Life.
