When I think about my many passions, there's one that I can remember that has stayed with me since my childhood. My first job, as a young teenager, was working/managing a small snack shack at a local baseball field. I was in charge of so many things and, at first, it was overwhelming but I learned to love it. It combined all of the basic principles of business that I'm learning about today such as marketing, management, and even accounting. These are things that I didn't even know existed at the time and yet I was still using all of them, and succeeding at doing so. From hiring friends to counting inventory, I was in control of this snack shack.
This specific experience introduced me into the business world and since then I've always wanted to stay involved in it. I currently go to the University of Massachusetts where I'm majoring in Economics. I also have a part-time job at State Street as a Screening Analyst. On the side of that, I'm an avid Ebay seller that I've been doing since I was 16. Business is what I remember and business is what I'm involved in now. My dad ran his own business when I was younger and everytime I visited him I was intrigued by the whole atmosphere. I thought it was the coolest thing and I always wanted to do the same when I got older. At this very moment, I still want to start up my own business some day. I know it can take a lot of time and effort to do this, but it's definitely something I can see myself enjoying for the rest of my life. I haven't yet decided what type of business I want to get into but that idea will come to me in time.
