Delonda Harvey

New Orleans songbird Delonda Monique Morgan a/k/a Delonda Harvey entered the world on Easter Sunday. In keeping with her birthday's religious significance, Delonda's sound is a resurrection of the soul music that shaped her childhood dreams of stardom.

As a child, Delonda performed in her church and school choirs and was inspired by Aretha Franklin, Chaka Kahn, Diana Ross, Teena Marie, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson. However, it wasn't until Whitney Houston released her debut album, that young Delonda knew music was her life calling.

Delonda served six years active duty in the U.S. Army, but never forgot her love of music. While stationed in Germany, she spent most of her downtime writing poetry, songs and performing at local venues and for military troops while on various deployments.

In 2002, Delonda took her notebook full of songs and poetry into the studio for the first time and has never looked back. In 2010, she embarked on a Gospel tour with TPW Ministries in Japan. Delonda, who lives in the Atlanta area and currently signed to Face Music Group, also sang on CNN and CNN International as part of a segment highlighting the iPhone application LaDiDa and has written original music for the documentary, "I Am A Dream Chaser."

"It has always been my dream to sing, write and be around music," says the much talented singer/songwriter who recently appeared on the Steve Harvey New Star Project. "I live and breathe music. I've always had a love affair with music. It has made me happy, sad, and at times it has even made me cry. But never once have I ever wanted to break up. I am forever and faithfully married to music!"
