Pursuit of the Minimal
That is how I would describe my art.
Featured in over one hundred exhibitions at museums, galleries and art centers throughout the United States. Work is part of the permanent collection of the Tampa Museum, the Kinsey Institute and others.
I have also worked in theatre for over forty years and have written numerous articles on theatrical history.
Except for an appearance in an experimental Dutch short, my involvement with the theatre has been largely behind the scenes: concert promoter, public relations, an American agent for British musicians, and manager of numerous movie houses during their final years of operation.
Author of the Brooklyn Theatre Index, a three volume history of borough showplaces.
The first two chosen 2010 OUTSTANDING BOOK OF THE YEAR by the Theatre Historical Society of America. The third published in 2014.
Editing and updating the Brooklyn Theatre Index, Volumes I and II.
Since 1997, I have conducted a popular series of theatre talks and walking tours, available for historical societies, libraries, senior centers, etc.
Tuesday Evening Hour, a non-profit slide-show program, found me to be "versatile and effective” in my “well-crafted presentations."
For Dick Zigun, at Coney Island USA, I am "one hell of an entertaining speaker."
While the Lower East Side Preservation Initiative refers to me as “legendary” (a bit excessive that).
