• Welcome! I am the Managing Attorney of The Graves Law Firm, a mother of a boisterous toddler, here to assist athletes facing family law related issues. We not only assist our clients with navigating the court proceedings and court documents but we also assist our clients with media relations, case planning and all the other roadblocks which may occur. Most importantly we assist families in reorganizing their family unit.
• Because I am so dedicated to my craft and providing the most up to date information run my field, I became a Certified Family Law Specialist, certified by the State Bar of California as a “specialist” in the area of family law, which is a fancy way of saying, I’ve been around for some time and I make it a point to remain current in my practice area.
• On a personal note, I decided to focus on Athletes, after assisting my uncle, who played in the league, navigate the child support process first when he played in the league and later assisting him in “modifying” the previous orders once he was “retired” at the tender age of 32. During his years in the league, it was difficult for him to handle his court matters and stay focused on his career, at which point I stepped in and handled his legal affairs while he focused on his career.
• In addition to assisting my uncle, over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with other athletes, comedians, actors and actresses and other entertainers with their family law concerns. During the course of such representation, just like my uncle, many clients just “didn’t have the time” “didn’t know what to do” and “didn’t want to deal with the media” which caused many of them to either procrastinate or ignoring the matter all tother. After hearing such concerns on a consistent basis, I made it my mission to make sure my clients “made the time,” knew the process and assisted all clients with media control and image control during the process.
• During the entire process, from start to finish, I make it a point to personally work with each client to first discuss their goals at the onset of the case, discuss a detailed plan to execute the plan, make sure the plan is executed as we discussed, and stay around once the process is finalized to ensure that my client’s case needs are met.
