1. What sparked your interest in writing?
Have your ever watched a movie that didn’t exist? Well, I did, in my head. As a kid, whenever I watched Harry Potter, I would lay down on my bed and daydream about different directions the story could’ve gone if something was different, if Harry was evil for example (don’t judge). And that’s when the magic happened. All the different paths the story could’ve taken, all the different scenarios and outcomes would start unwrapping in my mind. At first, I kept those stories for myself, until a few years ago when I decided that I would like to share them with others. A bit short of movie production money, I tried myself in writing, and that’s when my journey begun.
2. Do you have a favorite novel, author, or genre that you read?
As I mentioned before, JK Rowling’s Harry Potter books were one of the first I read, and they will always have a reserved place on my top shelf. There were, however, many others stories that left a huge impact on me. Some of them were manga-s, some were masterfully crafted story games like ‘The Last of Us Part One’ which this story was inspired by.
Regarding the genres I read, I like a good YA enemies-to-friends stories, but in general, some may find it weird to say this as an author, but I’m more of a visual person, and prefer visual medium over written one. I do enjoy a good book from time to time, but I like to absorb all kind of stories, no matter if they were written, filmed, painted or even sung.
3. Do you have any other writing projects you're working on currently?
Yes, I do have a few. In fact, ‘The Rebel and the Princess’ was my second project. The first one isn’t ready yet, but it should be soon, if I stop procrastinating that is.
4. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time, like hobbies?
If you don’t find me at my desk writing, you’ll find me on my desk dancing. There is something about music, some chemical reaction in my brain whenever I hear it that possesses me and forces me to dance. I can’t explain it, but I swear, you could lock me in the room and play me Mozart and I would dance for hours.
My other hobby is tennis. I’m sure that even the no-tennis fans heard Novak Djokovic’s name at least once. And coming from Serbia, the same country he does, I’m sure that I, along with most other kids, tried out the racket in their hands. I sure liked it. It’s good for getting out of the chair once in a while too.
5. What is your favorite kind of food?
The kind I should avoid.
