I am a second-year Creative Industries student at Ryerson University, who is ambitious, original, driven, inspirational, unique, and captivating in the work that I create. The two creative industries modules of focus in my studies are fashion and media business. Outside the realm of my creativity, I am an adverse individual, who not only creates beautiful contributions to the world, but who’s greatest work has been the creation of self. I am in a unique positon where I am ready to shake up society by my presence as a post-operative transgender woman of color. What better way to do that then in fashion? It is in this realm where I can wear my heart on my sleeves or perhaps my wrist, down my back, around my waist , and let it be something that not only represents me, but is the most authentic, raw and genuine version of myself. In the years ahead I plan to successfully develop my own personal brand that allows me to not only do what I love but show what it is that I love through what I do. In the upcoming months I am planning on expanding my platform through mediums such as YouTube, where I can project myself to the world in a way, that for many underrepresented identities was turned away by the masses because the world that projected itself onto them provided constant validation that a place for them does not exist. The ultimate vision for my brand is just that, a vision, a vision of a world, one of possibilities, of change, of triumph that I’ve imagined and created for myself, and now can say I’m ready to create for others.
