My whole life I have always loved to fish whether it be in the mountains or at a lake.

I started fishing at a very young age because my dad also has a passion for it so that is how I first got into it. I grew up on a lake so whenever I could I would go out to the dock and try to catch whatever would bite. My dad is really big into deep-sea fishing, but I never liked to go that far out on the boat so that is why I started to like fishing at the lake or in the mountains more.

In about seventh grade is when my passion for the sport really grew a lot. My friend and I would go to this pond right by our neighborhood almost every day to fish. This continued throughout eighth grade, but once high school started I did not have as much time to go fishing.

When quarantine came around I got bored so my brother and I would go to nearby lakes or our friend’s ponds to catch bass multiple times a week. That summer I went to the mountains with my family and decided that I would like to try out fly fishing. We booked a fly fishing trip in the mountains and it was amazing. At the school, I went to we do senior projects so of course, I had to do mine on fly fishing. I tried to take the art of fly fishing first-year odyssey class so that I could maybe go on some more trips, but it interfered with my other classes. However, whenever I find time I will definitely be going on more trips to the mountains to expand my fly fishing skills.
