George Watson

Grimsby, United Kingdom

Hey! My real name is George Watson (b. 23 June 1994), but I'm often known pseudonymously as dendodge. I'm a physics student from Lincolnshire, in the United Kingdom.

When I'm not studying, I spend a lot of time on Tumblr, where I maintain a personal blog, as well as Science is Fun!, a science blog; and the New Dictionary, a humorous effort to give new definitions to common English words.

I also enjoy experimenting with PHP, reading, and playing video games. I'm in quite a few fandoms, but my particular pop-culture obsession at the moment is Doctor Who.

I've also worked as a freelance journalist, writing a number of articles for Wikinews and the now-defunt OpenGlobe, of which I was a project manager. My work on the projects was varied, ranging from short synthesis pieces to in-depth investigative reporting on science & technology topics, and also included administrative work.

Right now, I'm the co-founder and creative director of LibreGlobe, a project to create a freely-licensed, crowdsourced, collaborative news website that will give the world a voice by allowing anyone, anywhere in the world, to write in a fair and unbiased manner about the news that matters to them, and give the writers the profits that result from their hard work.

Some of my other work includes writing fiction, image & audio restoration, and web development; a select portfolio of this and other work is available.

I speak English, HTML, CSS, and Wikisyntax fluently, and have a working knowledge of French and PHP, having also dabbled in German, Esperanto, and JavaScript.
