Denette Dunn is an experienced sustainability expert and public speaker firmly committed to serving her community. She previously held the position of vice mayor in Peoria and is currently a Pine District council member.

As a council member, Denette took the initiative to form the Pine Citizens Advisory Committee, which was established to address the specific concerns of her district. The committee has expanded to over 100 members, including residents and public officials, demonstrating her ability to lead and engage the community in meaningful dialogue.

Dunn’s background includes a robust career in the private sector. She worked for Republic Services as the Municipal Services Manager, overseeing over $85 million in municipal contracts across the southwest region. She also served as a registered lobbyist, helping to pass legislation that supported strong partnerships between private entities and local governments.

Her leadership extends to multiple boards and commissions, including the WESTMARC Board, the Peoria Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Solid Waste Association of North America’s Board of Directors. Denette also served as president and legislative liaison for the Arizona Recycling Coalition, advocating for sustainable policies and initiatives throughout the state.

Before her work in public service, Dunn held roles in marketing, sales, and management. From 2007 to 2011, she worked as the Director of Marketing and Community Relations at Hudson Baylor Corporation. She oversaw material recovery operations, managed public relations, and worked closely with municipal and state officials to secure grants and sponsorships for the company’s initiatives.

Dunn’s career continued at Republic Services, where she managed municipal contracts and played a key role in advocating for industry legislation. Later, at Dickson Sweeping, she helped the company expand its operations in Arizona and Nevada, supporting projects such as constructing compressed natural gas fuel stations.

Since 2019, Denette Dunn has served as a Peoria Council member, focusing on community growth and sustainability. She supports charitable causes, including Hart Pantry, West Valley Connect, and You Matter Too, an anti-bullying nonprofit.
