Dengting Boyanton
Dr. Dengting Boyanton is an Assistant Professor of Educational Psychology, Director of the Childhood Education Program in the Curriculum & Instruction Department of the College of Education, and Co-Director of TEDxLIU Conference at Long Island University, Post. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from University of Virginia. Her research interests lie in classroom teaching and learning, student-teacher relationships, engagement, and motivation. Through her dissertation research, she developed a new theory of learning: the Mutual Value Theory. She has given national and international presentations and workshops on Mutual Value Theory. Dr. Boyanton is a member of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and American Psychological Association (APA). Dr. Boyanton also serves as the President of Sino-American Educational Research Association (S-AERA). She has been mentored by many nationally renowned education scholars including Dr. Richard Mayer, Dr.Margaret Eisenhart, Dr. Cynthia Dillard, Dr. Richard Milner, and Dr. Jeremy Price. Her work has been featured in such publications as China Daily, China News, Xinhua News, Yangtze Evening, and she has appeared on Jiangsu TV and Nanjing TV.
Dr. Dengting Boyanton is also very experienced in directing programs. She directed three programs including UVa Culturefest (director), UVa-in-Shanghai Chinese Language Program (assistant), and UVa Summer Chinese Language Program (director) when at the University of Virginia.
