Denis Kisubi

Director, Project Manager, and Student in Kampala

Denis is a One Young World Ambassador 2021, campaigner, and leader in development practice, passionate about empowering diverse groups and challenging societal injustices, particularly in racial equity and youth empowerment.

As the Team Lead at Give Hope Uganda, a youth-led organization, Denis promotes the health and well-being of girls, women, and young people, helping them reach their full potential.

With over eight years of experience, Denis has led impactful campaigns such as the SPEAK! Campaign with CIVICUS, U=U Campaign, and EndChildMarriage in partnership with AU-UNICEF.

He contributed to Project Pakati at the African Leadership Institute, supporting the establishment of the youth organizations directory, which profiles over 100 youth-led and youth serving organizations across Africa. In 2022, Denis co-founded the Malaria Youth Champions non - profit organization in Uganda, supported by the African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) and Uganda’s Ministry of Health, where he serves as Secretary General. His work focuses on addressing health disparities and creating youth-led advocacy solutions.

A former Country Youth Representative for the African Youth Charter Hustlers at the African Union, Denis is a YALI Alumni in Public Management and has supported over 200 changemakers globally through The Pollination Project Foundation as a Grant Advisor.

Recognized for his thought leadership, Denis’ article on COVID-19’s impact on education was published by One Young World in 2022, and featured in Ambassador Spotlights: January 2022. Denis also won third prize award by African Leadership Institute on 60-Day Challenge to grow the Youth Organizations Directory in 2020 and is a Scholar in the Equitas Canada East Africa Human Rights Program.
