Born in Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia to an artist and a beautiful banker's daughter. No money but lots of intellect, art, and alcohol. Catholic education because of Irish politics rather than religious belief. Twice married, four children, heady career. Art school in my 50's. Gallery curator of contemporary art.
