Denis Jelcic is a seasoned sports administrator, business owner, and community mentor with over 30 years of experience in these fields. As General Manager of the Inline Skating Club of America, he has played a central role in building one of New Jersey’s top indoor sports facilities. His work with the New York Rangers Fan Engagement Department and Madison Square Garden reflects a career focused on connecting people through sport and purpose.
Denis has developed a deep understanding of recreation management, league operations, and player development. His efforts include officiating at the high school level, coaching youth teams, and supporting fan engagement at major sports venues. Whether behind the scenes or on the court, he has shown consistent dedication to service and mentorship.
Denis began working at the age of 14, balancing part-time and full-time positions while volunteering in athletic programs. These early roles taught him the importance of hard work and accountability. After college, he accepted a position helping manage a recreational facility, which set the stage for his long-term involvement in the sports industry.
Denis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City in June 1998 and completed coursework in Education Administration at Montclair State University. These academic experiences helped strengthen his leadership and organizational skills in professional settings.
From 1990 to 2000, Denis worked at Cliffside Park Recreation in New Jersey, where he created an inline roller hockey program, managed league schedules, and coached several sports. In 1999, he began serving as General Manager of the Inline Skating Club of America, overseeing its operations and growth. Between 2014 and 2020, he served as Assistant to the Athletic Director at Lyndhurst Public Schools, supporting logistics, budgeting, and event coordination. In 2020, he joined Madison Square Garden, first in uniform distribution and later as a hockey instructor with the Rangers Fan Engagement Department.
Since 1995, the facility he co-owns has served the local community through sports and recreation. Denis Jelcic’s career stands as a steady example of leadership, commitment, and a lifelong connection to the world of athletics.
