Deni Valchev
Student in Toronto
My name is Deni Valchev and I'm a 4th year Media Production student at Ryerson University. I've currently structured my degree to complete concentrations in Media Business, Screenwriting and Film & Video Production.
I'm currently a TV Distribution & Acquisitions Assistant for a television executive (Caroline Tyre, Wildbrain). I've taken my interests in the business and legal aspects of the Canadian, American and International film and television industry and I'm aggressively growing my skillset and network through my job with Caroline.
After I graduate from my undergrad, I plan to continue developing and growing my career in Development, Acquisitions and Distribution.
My passion is evident, however, my drive is what sets me apart. The entertainment industry is all about relationships, results and urgency. I'm building my network at Ryerson, through Caroline and on LinkedIn and expect to utilize my relationships for driving the appropriate and needed results in order to excel.
One thing I've learned through my time at Ryerson and at my position with Caroline is how to properly exploit a product. I have experience in audience research and ratings, contacting broadcasting/streaming executives internationally, how content producers apply for funding, producing the actual product and effectively marketing it.
I'm heavily involved at Ryerson University. I'm the Vice President of Student Life & Events for the Course union for RTA Students, a Director of Events for the Ryerson Law Network and a rower on Ryerson's Dragon Boat team. This might sound elementary, however, I know how to have fun with others and also drive the needed results.
Enough talking, let's connect on LinkedIn when you click "Hire Me" and let me pick your brain about your career in the entertainment industry!
