Dennis Hingsberg is an Award winning film Producer and Cinematographer based in Toronto, Canada and founder of the production company Star Central Productions (www.starcentral.ca) - a video and film production company specializing in producing 35mm cinematic film-style music videos, films, documentaries, and TV commercials.
Dennis has had countless "Official Selections" to film festivals across Canada for work in film, music videos and web-series including; Canada International Film Festival, Canadian Film Festival, Kingston Film Festival, Festival international des Très Courts, Toronto Independent Film Festival, Mississauga Independent Film Festival… and more.
In 2007 he proudly won an award for Best Cinematography on the short sci-fi film The 23rd Doorway Written and Directed by Brendan Farell – a film shot entirely on the 35mm digital format competing against other films shot on 35mm film. He continues to strive for a high level of cinematic quality in all of his work, and his devotion and passion for producing cinematic work is present in all genres he works in, from feature length and short films, to commercials, music videos, and web-series.
More recently in 2014 two short films his production company produced won awards, both of which he produced and worked on as the cinematographer. THE UNFORGETTABLE MISTAKE Written and Directed by Sean Robinson won the RISING STAR AWARD at the 2014 Canadian International Film Festival, and UNCOMMON ENEMIES Written and Directed by Alex Hatz won BEST SHORT FILM at the 2014 Little Nightmares Horror Short Film Festival.
As an avid blogger, Dennis has gained a strong online presence educating camera operators and consulting DP's in both technical and creative aspects of using the CineAlta line of Sony 35mm digital cameras to maximize image quality.
