After 32 years of federal service I retired and was taking it easy. Then one of my nieces, thinking I was Santa, told me what she wanted for Christmas. My Mother-Law followed that by asking me to play Santa at our annual family Christmas Party. It was

so much fun I had a Santa Suit made and started playing Santa. I would sometimes help Santa by appearing as him and reading

to kids at different schools. You can only imagine the joy I would get doing that. However, I had trouble finding a short

Christmas story that didn’t have cartoon character or movie spin offs made into a Christmas story that I enjoyed reading to

the kids except for “The night before Christmas”. It got my thinking, why wasn’t there a book that would tell the

story of what was going on at the North Pole before Christmas, what roll did Mrs. Claus play, how did the Elves live, and what

about the reindeer? So, I wrote “The North Pole on Christmas Eve”. Now there was a story that answered some of those
