My name is Dennis McMenamin and I am a senior at North Carolina Central University (NCCU). My major is behavioral health and social studies. Upon graduating I hope to work with juveniles in the juvenile justice system. I would like to be a juvenile court counselor, where I can help mentor our youth in a positive direction. My desire to work with juvenile delinquents comes my background where I grew up in the child welfare system. I lived in foster care for almost ten years and was in and out of the juvenile justice system many times. I wish I had more mentorship rather than punishment at such a young age. America needs a reform within the juvenile justice system and I hope to be a part of that.

I currently bartend at Craft Public House in Cary, North Carolina where I have been employed for over a year. I am volunteering as an assistant coach for a little league football team in Raleigh, NC. Some of the things I am passionate about include education, sports, social justice, and the well-being and future of our youth. I believe my outgoing personality and strong determination will help me pursue my goals in life.
