Dennis Michaud is the founder and president of Homebuilt. Prior to Homebuilt, Dennis co-founded Blu Homes, leading a team of architects, engineers, and software developers in bringing to market a still very successful portfolio of uber-quality, energy-focused prefab homes designed using aerospace information technology, automotive manufacturing techniques, and in-house virtual reality and augmented reality visualization systems. Dennis also co-founded Physical Design Co. with colleagues from MIT, bringing robotic manufacturing and DIY assembly to the Accessory Dwelling Unit market (the company has since been converted to a research group at MIT). In addition to his professional work in the building and cleantech industries, Dennis has taught at MIT, given talks at a dozen universities and academic conferences worldwide, and was invited to represent the United States at multiple international conferences concerning the future of building and green development, including a clean technology summit at the Swiss Embassy in Washington, DC. Dennis holds over twenty granted and pending patents in building technology and software, and his work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in Manhattan. He holds an undergraduate degree from Trinity College and a graduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
