General dentistry services are covered.Ninety-five percent of dentistry is general dentistry, according to Dr. Entin.Think cleanings, root canals, porcelain crowns, dentures, bridges, extractionsand cosmetic fillings. All these services are covered under Dentbenefits’monthly plan.

Build a relationship with your dentist. When youhave traditional dental insurance, your coverage will depend on your insuranceadministrator, who acts as a third party between you and your dentist. Withcopays, deductibles and pre-authorization requirements, getting the right careisn’t always easy.

If dental procedure (example: root canaltreatment, extraction) is initiated by a participating general dentistbut it is later determined by the participating general dentist that it needsto be referred to a dental specialist, the dental procedure will not becovered under the plan. The patient will be responsible for the cost oftreatment by the dental specialist.
