The root canal is in need when the nerve which is life dies within the tooth. The treatment is also known as endodontic treatment. There are certain reasons for the nerve to die such as deep decay, fracture, and trauma. Procedure of root canal
The root canal is not done in one appointment, it requires at least 2 visits form the patient. At first, your dentist will remove the tissue of old nerve from the inside of roots. The dentist will then protect the area from saliva and other particles by placing the rubber dam on teeth to keep it clean as well. It will disinfect and shape the roots inside. An x-ray will be done to ensure that root is all cleaned up.
The next process is to fill the root canal with the rubber sterile material called gutta opera. The dentist will take another x-ray to ensure that the root is full and its completely sealed from the bottom. At last, the dentist will place either a crown or a filling depending on the severity of tooth condition caused by trauma or decay.
The root canal is always successful and research shows almost 95% results. One should have a normal checkup to ensure the good teeth health and also to make sure that teeth are not infected again.
